Matt Compher currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Safety, Health, and Environmental for Quanta Services and its Operating Units. Matt has 28 years of safety management experience with the last 21 in the Electric Utility and Underground Infrastructure construction industries. Matt was appointed to and served two years on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety & Health (ACCSH). He is a member of the National Construction Safety Executives (NCSE) and a member of the OSHA Electrical T&D Strategic Partnership Steering Committee. Matt currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the Construction Safety Research Alliance whose mission is to prevent serious incidents and fatalities in the construction industry through collaborative research between industry and academia.
In 2023, Matt was named a “Top 25” Newsmaker by Engineering News-Record (ENR) and went on to win ENRs top honor, the 58th annual Award of Excellence for his creation of The Capacity Model, a unique safety approach that drastically limits harm from serious injuries.
Matt currently serves as President of the Board for Mates North American Pilot, with a mission to provide a sustainable, systematic approach to mental health and suicide prevention embedded in the construction industry.
Matt resides in The Woodlands, Texas with his family.
