Safety Manager
Doug embarked on his professional journey with Orion in December 2018, assuming the role of Regional HS&E Manager for the Pacific Marine region. He came to Orion with a robust portfolio, having served as a Construction Safety Manager for a variety of large-scale civil, electrical, and geotechnical enterprises throughout the United States. Doug's systematic approach to operational safety and his in-depth industry knowledge stem from a solid educational foundation—a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Occupational Safety and Health, complemented by a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He has worked with the CSRA on multiple projects, having been part of the ROI team and currently co-chairing the EBRA project.
His dedication to continual learning is evident through several prestigious certifications, including Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, as well as credentials as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
These qualifications and his unwavering commitment to the field have led Doug to his current role, where he provides HS&E oversight across all operational segments at Orion, encompassing Concrete, Marine, and Engineering groups. Doug's leadership and expertise continue to drive significant safety improvements and innovations within the company.
